What do you do?

Nicol and I own The Standard Kitchen Cafe. We create tasty food for people that love to enjoy it, and we specialise in SK bowls, grazing tables, and baking.

What’s the hardest thing about running your own business?

I think the hardest thing about running your own business would definitely be by prioritising. It’s a real balancing act getting the right mix between working in the business and working on the business. I think that’s why it’s really important to have a good accountant because that’s part of the business that you don’t have to worry about. It gives you more time to focus on the things that you enjoy doing. And I guess the things that you’re better at, rather than the numbers. It’s also really important to us to have someone who is available when we have questions. Jared is really quick at getting back to us and nothing is ever a problem.

What’s next for your business?

The Standard Kitchen is always looking to grow, always researching and trying new things to see what people like!
